12. Mai 1622: Drei Reichsstädte schreiben an Kursachsen

Auf wen konnte man noch hoffen, wenn man im Frühjahr 1622 als protestantischer Reichsstand das Ende des Kriegs im Reich befördert sehen wollte? Zuerst war an Kursachsen zu denken, und genau dies taten die drei Reichsstädte Straßburg, Nürnberg und Ulm, als sie sich Anfang Mai in einem ausführlichen Brief an Kurfürst Johann Georg als den einflußreichsten und mächtigsten protestantischen Reichsstand wandten. Der Brief wurde auch im Druck veröffentlicht und sollte offenkundig auch in der Reichsöffentlichkeit wirken1; er war auf den 2. Mai datiert, wobei … „12. In Search of the Drowned: Testimonies and Testimonial Fragments of the Holocaust

In Search of the Drowned aims to document the experience of voiceless Holocaust victims. It makes nearly three thousand oral history interviews with survivors from three US collections available; it combines data visualization with text and data mining to render the Holocaust from the victims‘ perspective. In a collection of essays, which is part of the project, the principal investigator guides readers through his inquiry into the experience of the voiceless victim.
